I've been there. I've done that. Going back to the year 2000, I've been involved in many multi-level marketing companies. Here's my list: Vemma, Advocare, Shaklee, Herbal Life, & Melaleuca. I joined all of these companies because friends (and people I respected) asked me to join promising how great the company was. Each seemed like they had great products, and looking back, I still think they did. I did not succeed in any of these companies and promised myself, and my wife, I would never join or even look at another one of these companies.
Fast forward eight years, I met a guy who approached me on another company. He called it a network marketing company, which is the first difference I heard from the others. From the products he showed me, I could see this company was different, but for a year and a half I stuck my ground determined not to go through the same cycle as before (join, spend a lot of money, the person who got me in drops out or I never hear from them again, then I drop out).
Over that year and a half, this guy didn't give up and it was over this time I recognized two flaws in the other companies that helped my decision to join a sixth company. 1) He had already been in this company for several years and introduced me to his team. I could see there were other people involved who had a stake in me growing and making money, and he wasn't going to drop out before I did. 2) He showed me the business plan (over and over and over) until I "got it." And this is where the beauty lies. The products this company puts out are by far the best I've seen, but the business plan is like no other plan or company out there. I found in all of these other companies, I was working for the people above me, but if someone below me did "Too Well," they'd be taken from me to where they would not benefit me any longer.
